A Better Bermuda for Hot, Sunny Southern California Lawns
If your lawn gets a lot of direct sun and summer heat, Endarra 81™ deserves a serious look.
Endarra 81 is a new premium hybrid Bermudagrass developed through the Oklahoma State University turfgrass breeding program. It was selected for a combination of characteristics homeowners actually care about: drought performance, dark-green color, fine texture, dense growth, and low seedhead production.
Quality Turf grows Endarra 81 locally at our farm in San Jacinto, California, making it an especially interesting option for sunny lawns throughout the Inland Empire and surrounding Southern California communities.
Why Choose Endarra 81?
Exceptional Drought Performance
Endarra 81 has performed extremely well in university and regional drought testing. That makes it a strong option for homeowners who want a lawn better suited to hot, dry conditions.
Dense, Deep-Green Appearance
Its fine blades and dense growth create the tighter, manicured appearance many homeowners want from a premium Bermuda lawn.
Low Seedhead Production
Endarra 81 produces relatively few seedheads, helping the lawn maintain a cleaner, more uniform appearance during the growing season.
Made for the Sun
Like other Bermudagrasses, Endarra 81 performs best where it receives plenty of direct sunlight.
Built for Real Lawns
Its dense growth and Bermudagrass characteristics make it well suited to residential lawns, family yards, and other sunny areas that receive regular use.
Is Endarra 81 Right for Your Yard?
Endarra 81 is a strong choice when:
- Your lawn receives full or mostly full sun
- Summers are hot
- Drought performance is important to you
- You prefer a fine-textured lawn
- You want rich green summer color
- You want a premium warm-season grass
It may not be the right choice if much of your yard stays shaded throughout the day.
If shade is your biggest concern, compare Endarra 81 with St. Augustine or Black Beauty Fescue before ordering.
What to Expect From a Warm-Season Bermuda Lawn
Endarra 81 is a warm-season grass. It grows most actively during warmer weather.
As temperatures cool, growth will slow and the lawn may lose some green color or enter seasonal dormancy depending on your location and weather conditions. Growth and color return as warm-season conditions return.
If having a green lawn through the cooler months is a top priority, Black Beauty Fescue may be a better fit.
Locally Grown by Quality Turf

Buying directly from the farm also means you can talk with our team before ordering if you’re unsure which grass fits your yard.
